Our hotel is the ideal starting point for all generations on your active winter holiday.
The start to the cross-country trail near the hotel out into the town’s and regional trails is a real winter treat for cross-country skiers. Hikes through the magical snowy winter forest with snow shoes or touring skis are also on the agenda. We are also offering a snowshoe tour with huskies for the first time.
Ice skating, curling or a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride through the stunning wintry scenery promise a great deal of pleasure.
Neuschönau is one of the snowiest areas in the Bavarian Forest.

There is a procession of horrible hairy creatures, ghosts, ghouls and devils dressed in goatskin and sheepskin with jangling bells strapped around them through Neuschönau during “Koishüttler Lousnacht” on 5 January every year.
Skiing at the national park
In just 20 minutes by car you can reach the large winter sports center Mitterdorf / Mitterfirmiansreut - with 8 lifts it's ideal for beginners and advanced skier. In Neuschönau and in the district Waldhäuser there are a total of 3 ski lifts available, which are partly used in the evening for floodlit skiing. Likewise the ski area Freyung in Solla with 2 lifts for beginners and advanced skier .
On-site ski schools with rental equipment guarantee that even beginners and not so experienced skiers have fun and elegantly master the runs after only a few hours of practice.
